What is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis involves inserting a fine, sterilised, disposable needle into the hair follicle to the root. An electric current is then passed down the probe to the tip to cauterise the root, allowing the hair to be removed without any resistance or plucking. Any hair on the body can be treated (except eye lashes, nose hair and ear hair) and hormonal hair is the most common type of hair treated. Areas hair can be removed from include upper lip, chin, cheeks, neck, legs, underarms, eyebrows and bikini area.
When it comes to Electrolysis treatments, it is highly important to choose the right electrologists as well! Skill level and technique play a huge part on a client's results and if the hair is not removed properly, eg. the hair is plucked out when removed, the area will take longer to clear as the hair will need to be treated multiple times before the root is destroyed.
